Senior Showcase: Team 3

Our Senior Showcase was a terrific stage for the 40 or so colleges that came out for the day to see good talent. Here's a look at the players on Team 3.

David Banks, Milton, 6-5, PF
The big man was effective on the glass as a rebounder with grit and size. He’s a strong post player who knew how to carve out some space with his size and strength down low.

Jordan Blue, Duluth High School, 6-2, G
There is a level of confidence that Blue plays with that allowed him to have good production in the camp setting. His pull up jumper was his best weapon. He drove hard into his defender and then stopped and popped for the shot. Blue played great in transition and finishes in traffic. Overall, he played with a good floor presence.

Akil Covington, Loganville High School, 5-11, PG
His non stop motor allowed him to get anywhere on the floor at any time. Covington played hard and played fast throughout the camp. He did a great job of raising the tempo for his team when he was on the floor. He was able to drive into the lane and create spacing for his teammates.

Kanaris Cummings, Cedar Grove, 6-4, SG/SF
One of the top slashers in the camp, Cummings stood out as a rim-seeking athlete. He finished around the rim and through contact time and time again. He’s a good leaper with good size and finishing skill. Our staff really liked the way he finishes through contact. Cummings was one of the top wing prospects in the camp.

Justin Day, Sprayberry, 6-1, CG
Probably the best shooter at the camp, Day was in full on sniper mode from deep. He proved himself as a guy who can shoot on and off the dribble. Day opened some eyes with his perimeter weaponry. A good student with a three-point shot, it wouldn’t come as a big surprise that his recruitment takes a spike after this showing. He was one of the 10 best players in the entire camp.

George Lovelace, Kell High School, 6-2, G
Lovelace found his effectiveness as a rebounding guard that started transition breaks. He was good as a midrange scorer with good size. Lovelace did a nice job of scoring on the pull-up jumper.

Malachi Martin, Milton, 6-3, CG
There was a stretch at the camp where he just went crazy from deep, knocking down consecutive jumpers from three. Martin was in a really nice zone in the middle of the day. A total team producer, Martin found spots in every category to contribute. His best college value will be just that - help where the team needs him. We’ve seen him wear and shine with different hats on.

Tobi Ogunsemore, Mill Creek, 6-7, PF
Throughout the event, there was a lot of buzz surrounding Ogunsemore. The long-armed post player showed good flashes of production throughout the camp. He was at his best when he was serving as his team’s go-to rebounder. The 6-foot-7 forward secured rebounds on both sides of the floor. He’s also not a bad finisher around the basket either. When left open, he knocked down some open jumpers. For a school looking to develop a post player who was well-taught at the high school level, Ogunsemore could be a nice late sign-up.
