It is a week later that the first Duke and North Carolina contest takes place but it is here, at last. Quite possibly the best college basketball rivalry going, putting aside any debate for those advocating the Louisville and Kentucky match-up, this year’s first of two meetings promises to be another excellent watch. We spoke with a few of the looming enrollees for both programs as to who might win and the X-factors in the contest.

The Atlantic Coast Conference is the mecca of college basketball. We know that. This year’s recruiting haul justifies such a statement.

The league is living up to it’s billing as the conference in college basketball. The ACC has six of the top 14 overall classes on the opening day of the earlier signing period.

There is another target for the Duke Blue Devils in the 2016 class. After grabbing ahold out of a commitment from Frank Jackson, a five-star guard from Utah on Tuesday evening, things are beginning to shape up for the ACC program in locking down another elite class. Jayson Tatum, a five-star wing, is already in the hopper, and Coach K and his crew is heavily involved with Harry Giles, Wenyen Gabriel, and Marques Bolden. All three play in the frontcourt and while they might not be able to land all three and getting two would be quite the haul, another senior forward has set a date to visit the campus officially next month.
