NextGen Preview Camp Team 3 Breakdown
SUWANEE, Ga—We’re continuing our coverage of the NextGen Preview camp with a look at team 3. All evaluations were compiled by coaches and HoopSeeen evaluators.
On a team with some terrific guards, Nordstrom stood out as a solid member of this backcourt. He has a good-looking stroke and could emerge as a high-level shooter. Nordstrom is a steady handler who doesn’t get rattled and dictates pace. When he was running the point, he led his team’s offense well.

On the younger side of campers, Austin Wedderburn showed a lot that impressed his coach. In terms of intangibles, Wedderburn’s coach applauded him for being a great teammate and bringing consistent effort. There’s plenty of upside in his offensive game as well. While he’s still developing, Wedderburn is a solid perimeter player that showed flashes of offensive creation.
The older Wedderburn is a wiry, long guard with potential as a versatile perimeter player. As he continues to grow, his multi-positional game will only expand. He was at his best when he was aggressive in attacking the rim. Wedderburn uses his length well around the rim and is a strong finisher.
Spaulding has good size on the wing and can be a utility piece that impacts the game in multiple ways. He uses his size well inside the arc and goes after rebounds with good energy. His upside is as a wing shooter. He has a good-looking shot that can continue to develop into a dangerous weapon in his arsenal.
Team 3 was one of the better offensive groups in camp. There were a lot of floor-spacing guards, and Gilliam was certainly one of them. Gilliam connected for some 3-pointers and looks to be a projectable shooter. His coach remarked positively about his overall coachability and intangibles as a teammate. Throughout the day, Gilliam showed to be a solid ballhandler as well.

Tristan Fife brought plenty of competitiveness to camp. His coach lauded his energy and coachability. Fife has a quick trigger from 3-point range and can become a threat from deep as he develops physically. In terms of creation, Fife has a solid handle, and, once again, with physical development, his ability to create for himself and others should keep getting better.
