Since our 2020 rankings have been released, we have decided to talk with some of the states best to get some insight into their recruitment. At #26, we have Kendall Latney of Mill Creek.

Currently sitting at 5-5 in a region that doesnt offer very many off nights, Kendall Latney spoke highly of his team in regards to their expectations. 

"I expect our team to be at the top of the region, even though we have a tough one. For myself it's being a leader and doing the things that coach wants me to do." 

The division one programs has started to inquire as Furman, Wofford and others have all stayed in touch. After getting his first offer from Bryant, Latney had this to say.

"I was a very strong and athletic guard." Latney said as to why the staff extended an offer. "I can play the one or the two." 

Of the programs that have stayed in touch, the coaches have offered up this guidance in regards to ways to improve.

"They really want me to work on my point guard skills so I can improve. Ive basically worked on alot of ball handling to improve."

Having not been on any visits yet, the Mill Creek junior eyed one program in particular as a place of interest.

"I've been trying to set up a Wofford visit. They always play good compeition." 

What has been said: At this years Georgia Preview Camp, I had this to say about Latney's ability to be a division 1 prospect. 

"A big wing with the athleticism to make him a standout on both ends. Latney bullied smaller guards in the mid post and in transition. Several guards felt his strength first hand when they began to drive and ran into the brick wall that was his chest. His strength and lateral quickness defensively should make him a multi-positional defender at the next level. As his offensive skill set continues to evolve, it’s easy to see other Division 1 programs get involved."

When asked about how he felt about being ranked as the 26th best prospect, Latney spoke of it as motivation. 

"I wish I was top 10, so Im going to have to work harder."
