Dayton, Ohio - Drive after drive resulted in a tough and one finish from Huntington Prep guard AJ Hoggard. It's been a reoccurring theme over his senior season as defenders don't often prep well for his sheer size and aggressiveness. Hoggard's play has led to a host of suitors, many of which have made him a focal point.
"I would say a couple. Wake Forest, Ole Miss, Xavier, Rhode Island, VCU. I say all of them. Every school that's recruiting me is prioritizing me."
Surpassing the 1,000 point total was fitting given his play at Flyin to the Hoop, an event in which he was the catalyst in a win over Bella Vista Prep. Being the point man for one of the nations best preps is no easy task but Hoggard has walked the line a number of times of stepping up in a number of roles when needed. Success has brought along suitors as Hoggard remains in no rush to end his recruitment.
"I've been on unofficials to Seton Hall, Rutgers, and Temple. I took Midnight Madness to Kentucky and I've been to Xavier."
"No, not yet." Hoggard said of official visit dates "I'm trying to wait until the season, I'm trying to focus on the season so we can finish up strong. I would try to see whos talking the most and see who is really, really prioritizing me. Style of play, best fit, and someone that's going to allow me to be me and play through mistakes from day one."
