2023 Spring Preview Team Three Evaluations
SUWANNEE, Ga—Here are the evaluations for team three from the 2023 Spring Preview as collected by our staff and coaches.
Smith is a tough player, and that especially shines on the defensive end. He was able to keep guards in front wand was a pest on that end of the floor. If a player brings the level of energy that Smith did on the defensive end at a camp, they’ll always be a coach’s favorite.
Baumgardner immediately caught attention during the first block of games with his smooth-looking jumper. He made shots from all over and got on a roll from the 3-point line at times. The 6-foot-3 sophomore flashed some athleticism and plenty of IQ as well. A name to jot down ahead of the spring and summer.
McCoy brought the right energy. He’s a hustle player who played within himself on Sunday. He let the game come to him and put himself in the best situations to be successful. Because of his unselfishness, he was a good teammate per his coach. After getting a feel for the afternoon, he started to hit shots.
Richards was the guy on his team that did the little things better than anyone else. There wasn’t one specific area in which he shined, but he did a little bit of everything well. Richards hit shots, rebounded the ball well, moved the ball well, and he battled and made hustle plays.
Carter Jones is a 3-point threat who utilizes ball fakes well. He brings an aggressive mindset on offense and can score on all levels. If he gets hot, he can rattle off several buckets in a row.
A versatile player, Osuji is a sophomore who caught our attention on Sunday. His motor was what coaches and evaluators loved the most. He’s a high-energy guy, and it shined on the glass. Osuji was a solid rebounding presence for his team. Overall, he’s a versatile player that can fit in at multiple spots on the floor. Whether on the wing or around the basket, Osuji is a weapon.
Brandon Lanier was tabbed as one of the camp’s top performers. You can read more about him here.
