The Florida Rebels Claim the Bob Gibbons 15U Black Bracket Championship in Impressive Fashion
SUWANEE—Patton Pinkins leads the Florida Rebels to championship gold with 12 points in a 68-38 win over EAB Tennessee.
Both teams have won a lot of games this spring on the HoopSeen platform, so it felt fitting to see them battling it out for a championship on one of the grandest stages in the industry.
As they tend to do, the Florida Rebels overwhelmed with their size and athleticism. It’s hard to stop a team with the depth and talent that they have. The Rebels jumped out to an early lead thanks to tremendous play from Pinkins and Jamier Jones.
After the Rebels’ early flurry, the game was all but sealed, as they led by around 20 for much of the remainder of the game.
Big man, Dewayne Brown II was a force down low and contributed 11 points for the Rebels. Jamier Jones added 6 points for the Rebels, but his impact on the game came via his passing. Jones whipped on-the-money passes to get guys open looks.
Caleb Cunningham led EAB with 10.
