Busy summer for Khalil Shaheed, visit tour in full force

Khalil Shaheed was one of the most aggressive guards at our events this travel season. The 6-foot-4 guard from Game Elite Florida was a load to stop en route to the rim. The Kennesaw, Georgia native’s play has caught the attention of several college programs. Now he’s in the process of sorting through his recruitment.

The class of 2020 guard from Superior Collegiate Academy (FL) currently holds offers from James Madison, Florida Atlantic, Stetson and Bethune Cookman. With interest from UNLV, Elon, Ole Miss, Central Florida, FIU, USF, Appalachian State, Georgia Tech, Georgia Southern, Iona, Nebraska and UAB, suffice it to say his recruitment has a wide variety of suitors.

Shaheed recently took a visit to Central Florida and Florida International. He has plans to visit Mercer and Elon next month. An official visit to James Madison is also happening soon too, he said.

After seeing him at our HoopSeen Tip-Off event, we wrote

The strong-bodied guard had himself a weekend. At 6-foot-3 and built like a middle linebacker, Shaheed powered his game into the chest of defenders as they squared up with him. He took his game right at them and opened the floor up for his talented teammates. Shaheed has always been sneaky good at our events over the years and this stage may have been the start in what could be (and should be) his recruitment surge. Shaheed has the motor to be a two-way disruptor. He had a productive year at Superior Collegiate in Clearwater, FL and his travel season is off to a hot start; Shaheed’s recruitment is low-major/mid-major focused right now. Schools in the mid-major realm and even some high majors could end April with him on their respective priority lists.

That same sentiment will ring true as we march towards the July NCAA Live Period. Shaheed should have plenty of coaches watching him and his Game Elite FL team.
