Still in search of his first offer, Lamar Oden continues to improve. A recruitment update with the Greenforest guard

Through out all of the players that we have talked to about their ongoing recruitment, the most surprising revelation so far has been that Greenforest guard Lamar Oden is still searching for his first offer. Having interest from Georgia Tech, Georgia Southern, UGA, Auburn, Tennessee State, Wofford, Florida A&M, Florida State, UAB, and Murray State, Oden is primed for a breakout spring given the number of things he brings to the table.

"I've developed as more of a leader. Dominating more. In AAU I felt like I wasn't contributing as much as  I should. Coach Rob(Allen) was helped me. A lot of dribble work, finishing and shooting, and stuff like that.

When asked to further describe how he's developed since the summer, Oden didn't only speak about the physical component of his game.

"Mentally. Just getting mental reps in and slowing the game down in my head. Not going to fast. In practice, my coach just stops me after mental lapses. They will stop me and tell me what I need to do."

While he's searching for his first offer, Oden believes there are some things he is in control to increase his opportunities.

"I believe just me being consistent. I have to show them I can play and dominate the game the way I know I can. Once they see I can do that, hopefully, the offers will come in."

"I just want to develop as a player and play with the best. A good coach that can develop me to where I want to be. My goal is to be a NBA player. Just be a pro.

When asked his thoughts about being our 20th ranked player in his class, Oden took the ranking as a challenge.

"It's going to go up. That's all I have to say about that."
