2024 Florida Jam: 16U Top Performers
After an action-packed weekend in Wesley Chapel, Florida, the inaugural Florida Jam is officially behind us. There were plenty of talented players that ended their travel season on a high note.
With that being said, here’s our top performers from the 16-and-under division…

Jordan Bryant, Team Ty Select: Looking back on our time in Wesley Chapel, Bryant is on the short-list of guys that really get me excited. A 6-foot-7 forward with a combination of ball skills and athleticism, he looks like a definite college prospect. Bryant’s go-to move on offense was scoring over his left shoulder in the paint, but he also proved he could stretch the floor with some made shots. He brings plenty of versatility to the table and should be a player we hear more about during the high school season.
Roobens Jabouin, Wellington Wolves Select: Jabouin was a tough assignment for many teams in the 16U age group with his size, physicality, and versatility. The 6-foot-5 forward was a mismatch problem as he overpowered smaller defenders and was too explosive for bigger post players. Jabouin made a living below the free-throw line, making several cuts from the high post and converting shots on his way to the basket.
Jianny Reyes Sanchez, SWFL Hoops: There weren’t many players that could match Reyes Sanchez’s physical makeup at Florida Jam. The 6-foot guard has a lot of raw intangibles that he displayed over the weekend, especially on defense. He made things difficult for opposing guards with his quick hands and deflections. On offense, Reyes Sanchez spent his time breaking down defenses and getting in the lane whenever he wanted.
Vernon Lee, SCE Daniels: SCE Daniels was one of two undefeated teams in the 16U division this weekend and a lot of that can be attributed to Lee’s play. Whether it was a small assignment or a big play, the Tampa-area product answered the bell. Lee scored the ball effectively from all three levels and defended at a high level throughout the weekend, capping off a strong travel season with his energy.
Jeremiah Cooper, Team Ty Select: If you’re looking for someone that was practically unguardable at Florida Jam, you’re probably referring to Cooper. The slippery guard was a headache for opposing teams all weekend with his quick-twitch abilities. Cooper had no issue getting by defenders and making plays for himself or teammates. The rising junior averaged over 20 points per game in four games played.
Nate Lowery, North Florida United: No matter how intense a game got over the weekend, Nate Lowery was calm, cool, and collected. He helped pilot North Florida United to a successful weekend on the hardwood as he picked his spots on offense while also acting as a ball-mover. The 6-foot-2 guard had no issues making the extra pass, and, in turn, racking up hockey assists. When he wasn’t making the correct play, Lowery was probably knocking down shots — he did that at a high level all weekend, too.
