#BOTS Profile: Enrico Borio, Florida PRO
ATLANTA, GA - When we take a broad stroke view of the 2023 travel season, there aren’t too many players who have watched their recruitment grow from a hum to loud quite like Florida PRO forward Enrico Borio.
The 6-foot-7 forward is a perfect blend of fundamentals, versatility and production. He’s been one of the more popular players here at the Best of the South with college coaches.
Florida PRO is one of the most athletic teams in the field here in Atlanta and Borio does a nice job of gluing all of the roster together. Borio, a native of southern Brazil, is pretty self-aware, too.
“I feel like I pass the ball and distribute the ball very well. I can make plays and find guys open. I can finish and shoot at a pretty high level,” Borio said. “I think we have played very well as a team and I feel like I’ve played very well up to this point.”
Not bad for a guy who didn’t really have a feel for what April and July basketball was all about here in the United States.
“Everything has been an adjustment for me because travel ball is all new to me. Every week I’m learning and getting better.” Borio said.
The college coaches certainly see it. He’s picked up offers from Chattanooga, Jacksonville and Portland. Borio said he’s hearing from roughly 30 schools at the moment. Coaches from Campbell, Lehigh, LIU Brooklyn and Stetson, to name a few, have all been in to see him so far in Atlanta.
“It’s been really good,” Borio said.
With the summer coming to a close, he’ll figure out what’s next and what his priorities will be when he looks for a home at the next level.
“For me, the most important thing is this - I want to be a pro after college. I want to go to a place that I can help a program but they can also help me achieve what I want to do and be a pro,” Borio said.
