2025 Recruiting Snapshot: Jamier Jones discusses early recruitment
2025 wing Jamier Jones ranks among the best in the class early on, and the start of his recruitment has yielded high-major interest.
Kansas, Texas, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Providence were among the first schools to contact Jones since coaches have been able to reach out. Out of that bunch, Kansas and Texas A&M have offered, and Houston offered earlier this spring as well.
While the process is just beginning for him, Jones has an idea of what he’s looking for in a future college home.
“Just a good atmosphere,” Jones said. “Where I’m wanted, where they produce with people like me, and just coaches that I bond with and that mess with me.”
Jones and Oak Ridge (FL) had a healthy crowd of coaches adorning the sideline for their games at the GBCA Southeast Regional live period event this past weekend, and that should be the case at Section 7 in Arizona as well. With plenty of attention from the next level, Jones looks to continue to show what has made him such an in-demand prospect.
“Going downhill, getting to the rack, playing hard, getting my teammates involved,” Jones said. “My shot is improving, so that’s making me an all-around player.”
With plenty of time left in his high school career, Jones will keep working to refine his craft.
“Being a three-level scorer,” Jones said of what he wants to improve on. “Being consistent with it.”
Jones doesn’t have any dates set for visits yet, but a trip to Houston is on the horizon for him. That will likely come after the AAU season wraps up in July.
