2023 Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions 17U Standouts III
SUWANEE, GA - The post-Gibbons celebration continues with some more names to know from the 17U division.

I’d argue he’s the best 2026 player on our HoopSeen Association platform this season. And I’d argue the gap is pretty wide. We saw some tremendous things from the youngster from North Carolina at the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions. Connor’s athletic ability is incredible. He absolutely flies up and down the floor and shines above the rim. The success he has at the rim - and above it - comes from his first step. He’s a blur for defenders. Connor can absolutely handle the rock like a stud and knows what to do with it. He’s an easy inclusion to our national rankings for the class of 2026. - Justin Young
Marcus impressed with his showing at Gibbons. We saw him a few months ago with Charlotte powerhouse Carmel Christian. He has the post moves to be a problem with his back to the basket and he has the size. What really gives him college potential is his ability to step out and stretch the floor with his shooting ability. For a guy his size that can stretch the floor it’s easy to see why he has the mid-major recruitment that he has going on. - Justin Byerly
Khalon Hudson is one of if not the best available seniors in Georgia. He’s been an all-region, all-classification player for his entire high school career, and he’s done nothing but win a lot of games during that time. At the Bob Gibbons TOC this past weekend, he impressed yet again. He set the gym abuzz early with 30-plus points. A long, athletic guard/wing, Hudson is a killer slasher with a high motor. He impacts the game across the board. He rebounds his position well, he’s going to bring it on defense, and he’s a multi-faceted scorer. Hudson makes teams better, we’ve seen it for years. He’s going to be a steal for whoever lands him. A steal. - Josh Tec
I’ve gotten to see Kavel on multiple platforms within the last several months. Whether it’s been at a camp, during the high school season, or on the travel circuit with Georgia Legacy, he’s been a player that has caught my attention in one way or another. With Legacy at Gibbons, Kavel impressed early on. They might have been the first game of the weekend for me, and it was a heck of a way to start things. Kavel got going early with physical drives to the basket that earned him trips to the free-throw line, and he knocked down some outside shots from then on. Aside from his scoring, Kavel showed more of his toughness with rebounds and defensive stands. It means more when I’ve seen a player do the little things across multiple settings than when I see a player make flashy plays every once in a while. I can win with the former, and Kavel is that kind of guy in my book. - Josh Tec
Very impressed with his effort and his motor. Good size and length, Bribson is very good in transition, he attacks the bucket and can finish with either hand through contact. He has a repertoire of moves in the paint and can score over either shoulder. He plays with balance and seems to flourish when the game is in fast mode. His outside shooting will need more work but he plays with exuberance and wants to get better. He understands game situations and when to attack and when to move to half court mode. - Andre Whitehead
This was a good weekend for the fellas from New York. They went 3-1 and pushed the tempo from start to finish. Meija was a key part of their overall success at the event. He was never rattled, never rushed and always in good command of the game. We saw his perimeter game pair well with his crafty ball handling and offensive creation. Mejia stayed patient, waited for the right moment to attack and pounced. Overall, this was a strong weekend for him and his teammates in metro Atlanta. - Justin Young
Mussie has been a riser in Georgia’s 2024 class. The 6-foot-9 forward had some great moments with Team Scoot at the Bob Gibbons TOC. Most know him as a rim protector, and that’s what he did on Friday night. He’s long and active around the basket, so scoring on him isn’t easy. He has shown that he has a solid skill set on offense that still has plenty of room to develop too. - Josh Tec
