2023 Bama Jam 17U Standouts II
HOOVER, Al—Bama Jam always provides a great first in-person viewing of prospects at the beginning of each travel season. Some teams were just kicking into gear, and others just hadn’t hit the HoopSeen stage yet.
That’s part of what makes Bama so great. It’s a new chapter in the evaluation process.
With that, we’ve been taking a look at some of the 17U division’s outstanding performers. These are some more of the guys that have stuck with us since we left the Finley Center on Sunday.

Caleb White can go. We’ve seen it for years from him at Bama Jam. An explosive athlete, White can hang points on the board in the blink of an eye. He’s proven time and time again that he can heat up from the 3-point line and soar high for dunks. He showed how he can pop off on offense in Fusion’s game against Pro One Select when he led with 29 points. 21 of those came in the second half. It's these scoring outbursts that we've seen White put on consistently over the years. - Josh Tec
Wilson put together a quality weekend all around, particularly on Saturday with a couple of loud performances. The lefty refuses to get rushed or hurried by any opposing defenses, and I think that’s what I like the most. He did a nice job spraying the ball around and being a distributor while also picking his spots for scoring opportunities. With a thin, 6-foot-4 frame, there’s a lot of upside that comes with him in the guard spot. I’m buying stock in Wilson going forward. - Garrett Tucker
It still blows my mind how Durley is an available senior at this point in the game. The 6-foot-3 guard is as selfless and unselfish as they come with the ball in his hands. He understands the game quite well and doesn’t force the issue. But make no mistake about it, Durley can put up points when he needs to. He’s one of my top available seniors in Alabama and should be a prospect college coaches become familiar with during the live periods. - Garrett Tucker
When watching McPherson, I couldn’t help but think that he looked like he’d be pretty good at football, and it turns out that my hunch was correct. On the basketball court, McPherson is a force. He’s physical on drives and is automatic at the rim. He can step out and catch fire from beyond the arc too. Team Dr1ven was one of the teams of the weekend, and McPherson was right in the middle of their success. His highlight came against the uber-talented Fusion 15U team when he dropped 29 points and gave Dr1ven a signature win. I haven’t seen him play football, but I can tell you that he’s a hooper for certain. - Josh Tec
I watched Duskin several times during the high school season, and each time I came away more impressed. This weekend was no different — the 6-foot-4 wing man makes winning plays all over the floor. I think he has the potential to be a potential ‘blow-up’ guy with college coaches during the April evaluation periods. Dustin’s ability to stretch the floor with his shooting and his defensive versatility will be intriguing for many eyes over the next few weeks. - Garrett Tucker
