2023 Bama Jam 17U Standouts

HOOVER, AL - The Bama Jam provided us with a great opportunity to see teams and players for the first time this travel season. For some, it was a good first impression, for most, it was another chapter in their stories.

Now that the dust has settled, here are some standouts from the 17U division.

Davis was one of my favorite players in the building. Paired with Simon Walker, the Pro One backcourt was a must-see. Davis has plus size at the PG spot at 6-foot-4. He’s an exceptional passer with either hand and plays under control. His vision is outstanding. Davis looks to facilitate, but he can pack a serious scoring punch. He’s shown the ability to score on all levels consistently. He’s one of the hotter prospects in the south with a host of mid-major offers and high-major interest. He’s due for some big live periods this spring and summer. - Josh Tec

Jorgensen had a quality weekend for Clutch Elite as they claimed the 17U Orange championship on Sunday. The Mississippi native made his case as the top shooter in the gym each time out, but none more than in the championship game. He made six three-pointers en route to a team-high 29 points. Jorgensen got his shot off quick and always caught the ball ready to shoot. It was a heckuva weekend from the junior. - Garrett Tucker

Landrew was one of the biggest beneficiaries from the weekend. Not only was his play impressive, but the freshman landed three scholarship offers within 36 hours as UAB, Jacksonville State, and Virginia Tech all made their respective moves. The 6-foot-6 forward has a polished offensive arsenal for his age and he made the most of it. Landrew’s feel for the game and basketball IQ differentiate him from his peers, too. It’s still early, but he’s definitely one of the more promising players in his age group from the South. - Garrett Tucker

Zundra Jackson is a name for coaches to highlight this spring and summer. The Tennessee Tigers guard can catch fire from the 3-point line. He can rattle off a string of consecutive buckets from outside the arc in a hurry. Jackson also plays with good poise at the PG spot. He’s certainly someone that should get looks during upcoming live periods. - Josh Tec

This is a fun OTP group to watch. They have a lot of interesting prospects for the next level. One of the guys that continually impressed over the weekend was Bryson Andrews. He had a solid weekend from 3-point land. His ability to knock down shots was a theme throughout the weekend. Andrews has deep range and hits off the catch and off the bounce. His best asset is one that’s most sought-after by coaches right now. A knockdown shooter can help every program. - Josh Tec
