2023 Spring Preview Team Two Evaluations
SUWANNEE, Ga—The HoopSeen Spring Previews are always great bridges between high school and AAU ball. This past Sunday saw several guys put on performances that impressed ahead of a long summer.
Team two had several of those guys. Here’s a look at what our staff and coaches thought of this group.
Nelson is a blur with the ball in his hands. He’s lightning-quick with it. He utilized his speed well to get by defenders and into the paint. He was able to take it all the way to the rim and finish, or he kicked to open shooters on the perimeter. He balanced scoring and distributing well.
Alex Young was tabbed as one of the camp’s top performers. You can read more about him here.
Every team needs a floor spacer. Shooting has never been more valued than it is now. Dylan Wood was that guy on Sunday. He’s a quality shooter who impressed with his ability to knock down shots for his team.
Jameel Peters was tabbed as one of the camp’s top performers. You can read more about him here.
Miguel was one of the most solid point guards on Sunday. His coach raved about how trustworthy he was with the ball in his hands. He was confident in Miguel to get the offense going. He’s a smart player who knows the game well for being such a young player.
Tenacity is a word that comes to mind when thinking about Jackson’s afternoon on Sunday. He played with grit and edge on defense. He’s competitive on that end of the floor. On offense, he doesn’t mind contact at the rim. He can finish through defenders when he gets to the rack.
A 6-foot-7 forward, Wenttang is a big who runs the floor well and finishes with both hands at the rim. He has good footwork in the post and proved that he can be a quality scorer down there.
McKoy was one of the younger players in the gym, but his feel for the game was as good as anyone’s. He knows what’s up on the court, and he can shoot it well. McKoy was also a willing defender. He gave great effort on that end of the floor. His story is just getting started, and it’s starting off on the right foot.
