Georgia State Lands Kaleb Scott
2020 big-bodied forward Kaleb Scott ended his recruitment tonight with a commitment to Georgia State. The 6-foot-7 bruiser who spent the summer and spring playing with Garner Road Basketball Club on the adidas Gauntlet shined on our HoopSeen stage during the Tip-Off where our editor-in-chief Justin Young named Scott to the "Three Guys to go to War With."
Scott chose Rob Lanier and his staff at Georgia State over Elon, Appalachian State, Furman, Charlotte and College of Charleston. Scott had this to say about his commitment, "When committing to Georgia State, I knew I would be committing to a staff who believes in me as a person and player whole heartedly. Coach Lanier and his staff never swayed in recruiting me through this summer and prior to it. I was injured for the better half of it and Coach Lanier let me know that he is able to see through me not playing my best basketball at that time. He knew what I was capable of and believed in it. The opportunities in the city of Atlanta are endless from a business perspective and that's something that I couldn't pass up. Pair that with a coaching staff that has tremendous experience, a team that I feel could mesh well with, and a school that's on the rise. There wasn't a better option for me and my family. Georgia State and the people who are a part of that program I fell I could call my second home. I can't wait to get started."
This is Georgia State's first commit in the 2020 class.
