Tai's 5 things to know in Georgia
The season is here. That's it. That's the lede.
If that doesn't get you excited then this is not the story for you. I took a look at some past weekend news and things to know as we prepare for the season.
Sam Hines is off the board
Sam Hines will soon join his old teammate, Roscoe Eastmond at the University of Denver. The Wheeler forward has been lauded for his toughness and versatility over the years by our staff. Wheeler head coach Larry Thompson will lean on Hines for senior production as he rolls out one of his youngest teams in recent memory. Rodney Billups shouldn't mind the increase in usage as it should only further prepare Hines for the summit league.
Kostel on his visit to Alabama Huntsville
"It was a really good visit. They have been on since my sophomore year, and they offered me after the first live period. They were my first offer. The first time I went back up to campus with the new head coach he offered me. I already knew all of the guys and I fit in well with them. I fit in with their offense and the way they play defense. The school is a good size and it's constantly growing. It's a great fan base and a great town. It has everything I wanted. Everything went well."
Terrence Edwards doesn't take the preseason lightly.
31 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals was the final stat line per SUVtv for Edwards during his preseason scrimmage vs. Southwest Dekalb. It's the sign of things to come for a player that's under recruited in the peach.
Terrence Edwards, Jr. had one of GA's best motors on display tonight.Made a handful of 3s as well in Tucker's 82-71 exhibition win vs SWD. Finished w/31pts,15reb, 5ast, 4stl #SUVtv Replay: https://t.co/GKqOiJMa15@fg_fatt @TuckerBoysBBall @DCSDAthletics @John_Morgo #ABACE pic.twitter.com/Lub9W3rZKj

My award for most improved goes too...
What's not to like? A revved up motor, quality rebounding numbers, and a hard hat mentality has carried Armbrester to this point of his career. What I didn't see coming was his vast improvement from the perimeter. Against a loaded Pebblebrook team(a must follow team for coaches of every level) Armbrester displayed his newly crafted perimeter game en route to 25 points(3 made threes). If vegas had an over/under for games that Armbrester will win in college, I'm taking the over.
