Top Performers from MN, WI, IN, NY & IL at #BOTS19

ATLANTA, GA-Every year, the Best of the South is one of the best platforms for players from all over the United States. This year was no different. We asked our staff about the very best they saw from the prospects we saw from Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, New York and Wisconsin.

John Henry, Minnesota Fury
For one of the few undefeated teams at the Best of the South, Henry proved himself to be a sharp-shooter for the Fury. We wrote about Henry earlier this week here . In a
matchup versus a stacked Team Parsons 17U squad, Henry hit five treys en-route to a 20-point outing. On defense, he stuck with some forwards that had a hard time getting past him. - Derik Williams

Max Kunnert, Wisconsin Sharks
This long-bomb shooter notched 21 points and five treys in the first half during an 80-69 win over the St. Louis Blazers. The 2021 kid can flat out stroke it. He finished with 28 points. In the second half, he operated more in the midrange area, sinking floaters & drawing contact at the rim to get to the stripe. He’s listed as a 6’3” PG but plays solid defense on any wing/forward you throw at him. - Derik Williams

Seny Ndaiye, New York Dragons

The big man originally from Senegal for the New York Dragons has only been in the United States for six months. He was impressive with his length and his ability to alter shots plus his interior rebounding. The 6-foot-9 Ndaiye had West Virginia Head Coach Bob Huggins in on Friday to watch him and he garnered a scholarship offer later in the day, his coach told HoopSeen. - Justin Byerly

Norvell Meadows, Chicago Grinders

Scoring is Meadows’ forte. He wants the ball in his hands. He is a little undersized at the shooting guard spot but makes up for it with his high lift on shots. He is relentless when attacking in transition or going into the paint from the perimeter. When the electric guard wasn’t scoring, he was getting teammates involved while drawing defenders in. He started the tournament off on Thursday with a bang scoring 42 points against D Favors Celtics. - Justin Byerly

Jaden Brown, AWAIT (Indiana)
Really liked the patience this guy played with the entire day. One of his best games came through not ONLY scoring, but also the way he was aggressive on defense, and shot the passing lanes for quick steals & finishes. The 6’6” wing was a force in the paint and bullied his way through for quick score--despite being hacked, a couple times. – Derik Williams
