HoopSeen Weekly Report 02.02.26
BEST WE SAW:
2027 Kevin Savage - Wheeler:
Kevin Savage put together a big-time performance and was the clear tone-setter in Wheeler’s statement win over Walton. The Class of 2027 guard was lights out from deep, knocking down 5-of-6 from three, and showed great feel for when to hunt his shot versus when to attack the defense. He consistently put pressure on Walton’s guards, getting downhill and finishing strong in transition.
Savage’s confidence and poise stood out all night. He played under control, made quick decisions, and never forced the action. His ability to score at all three levels opened things up for his teammates and kept Walton on its heels. Finishing with a game-high 24 points, Savage continues to show why he's one of the best guards in the nation.
2026 Gregory Dunson - Alexander (Colorado State-commit):
Gregory Dunson led the way with 15 points, doing much of his damage at the free-throw line by consistently attacking the rim and putting pressure on the defense. The Colorado State commit showed strong feel as a playmaker, getting downhill and drawing help before kicking the ball out to open shooters.
Dunson’s ability to control the pace stood out, as he made smart reads and kept the offense flowing. His physical drives, composure, and decision-making were key factors in keeping the defense off balance and helped set the tone on the offensive end.
The Meadowcreek Defense (Kamari Brown, Jayden Beckham, Enzo Wea amongst others): In an important region battle against Parkview, the Meadowcreek team defense shined brightest over any individual accolades on this night. 15+ deflections, double-digit turnovers forced, 5+ blocks at the rim - Coach Terry Smith had his Mustangs that feature 13 seniors prepared for battle. All 3 of the unsigned seniors mentioned above (they weren't the only ones) came out ready to compete and made scoring nearly impossible for the Panthers with immense pressure from the tip until the final buzzer sounded. Their games go beyond the stat-lines, but Brown finished with 5p 10a 4r 3s 2b, Beckham 11p 5r 4s 1a, & Wea with 9p 7r 1b 1s. Coaches looking for toughness should make their way up to Meadowcreek High School as they have a cast of guys ready to contribute.
SENIORS:
Amare James - Wheeler (Clemson-commit):
Class of 2026 guard Amare James showed a polished offensive game, consistently creating looks for himself in the half court. He knocked down a couple of mid-range jumpers and did a great job of getting to the free-throw line by playing under control and attacking gaps in the defense.
James looked very comfortable with the ball in his hands, displaying patience, confidence, and a smooth release on his jumper. He finished with 10 points, but his impact went beyond the box score, as his steady presence and shot-making helped keep the offense organized and efficient.
Marquise Leslie - Alexander (Charleston Southern-commit):
Marquise Leslie sparked Alexander’s second-half surge, pouring in 14 points after the break and making his presence felt on both ends of the floor. The Charleston Southern commit showcased his two-way ability, impacting the game as a scorer, defender, and all-around contributor while consistently filling up the stat sheet.
Leslie played with great energy and toughness, scoring within the flow of the offense while also taking on key defensive assignments. His ability to make timely plays, whether it was getting stops, finishing in transition, or capitalizing on scoring opportunities, was a major factor in Alexander’s momentum and overall success down the stretch.
Jayden Crawford - Alexander (Georgia Southern-commit):
Jayden Crawford brought a strong all-around impact for Alexander, even on a night when the scoring didn’t fully reflect his usual production. The Georgia Southern commit showed his value in other ways, setting the tone with his energy and toughness. Known as a guard who can score in bunches, Crawford stayed engaged and effective by doing the little things.
He was a constant pest on the defensive end, applying pressure, disrupting passing lanes, and forcing uncomfortable possessions. After coming off the bench in the first half while Alexander got off to a slow start, Crawford moved into the starting lineup to open the second half—and the game shifted. His intensity, leadership, and defensive presence helped ignite the run as Alexander took control and never looked back.
Kenny Larue - Dacula: One of the more slept on guards in the Class of 2026 here in Georgia. Larue has had years of productive basketball at Lambert & now after a move to Dacula he is thriving while leading a young group of Falcons that show a ton of promise. His scoring & particularly his shooting is high level, but his defense is what really stands out on an initial watch. Although he may not be as tall as many coaches may like, his frame is strong & is physical with other guards. The college that ends up with him is getting a winner and a competitor and will be a successful player at the next level.
Cameron Jackson - Alexander:
Cam Jackson turned in a productive and impactful performance, finishing with 11 points while consistently doing the dirty work that doesn’t always show up in the box score. He was active in the passing lanes, used his length and instincts to create disruptions on defense, and rebounded well from the wing.
Jackson also did a nice job finishing around the basket, capitalizing on his opportunities within the flow of the offense. His energy, toughness, and willingness to handle the gritty responsibilities were key factors in Alexander’s overall success and helped keep momentum on their side.
Christian Pak - Seckinger:
Big second half from Christian Pak, who caught fire after the break and finished with 12 points while also dishing out multiple high-level assists. The guard showed his ability to take over stretches of the game, finding a rhythm offensively and making the defense pay once he got going.
Pak’s scoring came in bunches, as he knocked down timely shots and played with confidence, but he also showed good feel as a facilitator by creating opportunities for his teammates. When he sees a couple go in, he’s the type of guard who can really heat up, and his second-half burst was a key factor in keeping the momentum rolling.
Tye'rhaun Wren - Meadowcreek: In a win over Parkview, Wren stood out in the 2nd half as he converted multiple buckets around the rim and from the FT line to extend the lead. Finishing with 16p 7r, Wren was great working in a pick&roll where his guards were able to find him at the basket & he finished strong at the rim. Lines his shoulders up with the glass, absorbs contact & gets to the line for the And-1. Schools looking for a quality HS post should be looking his way as a guy that can continue to develop.
Sean Alicea - Meadowcreek: One of the best offensive players around in the 2026 class. In a game where many of his teammates were playing well & he took somewhat of a backseat - Alicea was still able to show off his skillset as he finished with 13p 3a 3r in limited attempts. Crafty finishing around the rim & almost automatic from 3, he's become a consistent presence that has to be accounted for when matched up with the Mustangs.
Cadence Burch - North Clayton:
The Eagles also got a strong second-half showing from 6’1 Class of 2026 point guard Cadence Burch, who stepped up and carried the scoring load when it mattered most. Burch poured in 15 points after the break and added 4 assists, showing confidence and command of the offense.
He did a great job balancing scoring and playmaking, attacking when opportunities were there and creating for others to keep the defense honest. Burch’s poise, decision-making, and ability to make timely plays were key in helping the Eagles maintain control down the stretch.
JUNIORS:
Carnell Kelly - North Clayton:
For North Clayton, Class of 2027 forward Carnell Kelly brought energy and versatility whenever he was on the floor. He showed the ability to score from multiple spots, using his activity level and physicality to make an impact on both ends.
Despite sitting out most of the second half, Kelly still finished with a productive line of 13 points and 7 rebounds, a testament to how effective he was in limited minutes. His motor, rebounding presence, and scoring ability stood out and made him one of North Clayton’s key contributors in the game.
Malachi Edgell - Douglass:
The Astros’ versatile 6’6 Class of 2027 wing Malachi Edgell began to heat up in the third quarter and made his presence felt across the board. Edgell finished with 12 points and 5 rebounds, but his impact went well beyond the scoring column as he consistently filled up the stat sheet.
He used his length and versatility to affect the game in multiple ways, rebounding, making plays, and contributing on both ends of the floor. Edgell’s activity level and ability to impact the game in different areas helped spark momentum and showed why he’s such a valuable, do-it-all piece for the Astros.
Jojo Foster - Douglass: Joseph Foster was equally impactful, adding 10 points of his own and making timely plays on the offensive end. The small but dynamic guard showed his ability to change the flow of the game with his speed, energy, and aggressiveness. Foster’s ability to score and make plays in spurts helped maintain momentum and proved he’s a guard who can quickly swing a game when he gets going.
Bryce Jenkins - Mill Creek: A steady consistent presence for Mill Creek in their win over Dacula on Wednesday night. Finishing with 15p 2a, Jenkins went 7/9 from the FT line & did the majority of his scoring in the 2nd half. Made good decisions with the basketball and valued possessions with limited turnovers. Tough physical defender that led Mill Creek to a big region win.
Cam Gaines - Mill Creek: Gaines was a giant scoring spark off the bench for Mill Creek that helped lead them to a victory. In a game where Dacula took off to an early double-digit lead - Gaines came into the game scoring 8 quick points to get Mill Creek not only back into it, but going into halftime with a lead. The recent Mount Pisgah-transfer flashed some great ability and is a 2027 to track going into this upcoming AAU season.
JJ Brown - Parkview: Powerful force at the 5-man spot for Parkview. In the past 2 weeks, he's received football offers from UCF, Kentucky, FAU, Purdue, & Pittsburgh but on the hardwood he's a force to be dealt with as well. In a loss to Meadowcreek, he finished with 20p 4r 2s 2b facing multiple double & triple teams off a catch. Not only did he show his ability to score around the rim, he looked very comfortable shooting from the outside & the mid-range where he converted multiple buckets as well. Look for Brown to continue his high-level of play as Parkview is in the driver's seat for their first state tournament and already have more region wins than any PHS team since 2020.
Promise Palmer - Douglass:
Promise Palmer provided a big spark for the Astros, finishing with 10 points and bringing constant pressure on the defense. Despite his size, Palmer played with confidence and toughness, using his quickness and shot-making ability to create problems for defenders. He showed how effective he can be in key moments, giving his team a lift and keeping the game within reach.
UNDERCLASSMEN:
2028 George Fajemirokun - Dacula: High-ceiling player in the Dacula 2028 class. A recent move-in from Canada, Fajemirokun uses his wingspan to get deflections, block shots & score around the rim. Still a raw prospect, he has some intangibles that can't be taught and has the Dacula staff excited to keep working with him. Finished the game with 10p 3r 2a 4s 3b and was stuck fighting two bigger posts on the interior from Mill Creek. Lot to like in George's game and where his career takes him from here.
2028 Joshua Brown - Dacula: Can't teach heart. Josh Brown jumps off the page with his effort on every possession. In a strong Dacula 2028 class, Brown does a lot of things well that has helped the Falcons to an early 17-4 record. His athleticism really flashed on a transition block on the glass where he rose up to above the square to pin a shot off the backboard. 2028 that needs to be paid attention to as he develops in his high school career.
2028 Alex Ayala - Mill Creek: Physical, stocky forward that had a major impact on the inside in their win over Dacula. Finished with 10p 6r as he did a lot of the dirty work around the rim and was a tough matchup for the Falcons. Footwork looked solid and has a frame that he can continue developing his game with. 2028 with a bright future.
2028 Jaiden Bocachica - North Springs: Led North Springs back from a halftime deficit against Northview on his way to a game-high 20p. Got hot in the 4th quarter where he hit 3's on 3 consecutive possessions and finished with 4 in the quarter to ensure in clutch time it was his team that came out on top.
