2025 Recruiting Snapshot: Jacob Wilkins draws early interest, talks fit with Grayson
Originally on the radar for being an NBA legacy—Dominique Wilkins’ son—Jacob Wilkins has made a name for himself and is on the rise as a national prospect.
Arkansas, Mississippi State, Virginia, Auburn, Georgia and South Florida were among the first schools to directly contact Wilkins. He’s had other schools like Indiana extend offers prior to the direct contact period as well.
Those around Georgia hoops circles have been tracking the 6-foot-8 rising junior for years, and now with local high school power Grayson (GA), Wilkins and the Rams look to be as formidable as ever and should be one of the nationally-regarded teams from the region.
“I feel like I fit in well with my team,” Wilkins said of his first few weeks with Grayson. “I’m going to give it everything I got for my guys. I’m always going to fight for them.”
Wilkins adds high-level, explosive athleticism to an already deep team. His addition helped fill the college coach seating section at this past weekend’s GBCA Southeast Regional live period event. As coaches continue to familiarize themselves with him, Wilkins looks to show the breadth of his game.
“I can do it all,” Wilkins said. “Whether it’s defending, scoring, rebounding, anything they’re looking for.”
Wilkins is in the process of setting up visits, but those won’t come until after the July AAU sessions.
