2022 Elite Preview Team 4 Evaluations
SUWANEE, GA—Continuing our coverage of the Elite Preview camp from Sunday, here’s a look at the players who made up team four.
He’s a worker full stop. Simmons brought the hustle and gave his teams bursts of energy. Today, that’s as important and as much of a skill as anything else. Simmons’ coach applauded his aggressive defense and toughness. We’ve come to expect a level of grit from southside players, and Simmons has that in him.
Vincent Wells was tabbed as one of the camp’s top overall performers. You can read more about him here.
Alex Young was tabbed as one of the camp’s top overall performers. You can read more about him here.
Aiden Aponte was tabbed as one of the camp’s top overall performers. You can read more about him here.
McKinnon was one of the top guys at HoopSeen’s Alabama preview camp and opened a lot of eyes with his performance there. On Sunday, he showed more of what we liked about him back in September. He’s a solid wing prospect who brings plenty of athleticism to the floor, and he can score the ball well. He’s especially dangerous when he gets to his mid-range pull-up. McKinnon is a good secondary option as a playmaker and ball handler. He showed off an ability to distribute the ball well on Sunday.
Another guy who impressed at HoopSeen’s Alabama preview camp, Bryce Dawson continued his great fall with another great camp outing. He brings a ton of versatility on both ends of the floor. Dawson is a physical, athletic wing. He uses his length and strength on defense to be able to guard multiple positions. Offensively, he’s shown an ability to knock down shots with range extending out to the 3-point line. He’s one of the better long-term prospects we’ve seen this fall.
