2022 Elite Preview Team 2 Evaluations
SUWANEE, GA—HoopSeen continues its look at each team from the Elite Preview camp from Sunday with the evaluations for team two.
Dre Clarke was tabbed as one of the camp’s top overall performers. You can read more about him here.
Holloway opened some eyes on Sunday. He’s a guard with a great first step thast allows him to get by his man consistently. As a handler, Holloway is solid and is a reliable leader of an offense. He has a smooth-looking jumper, and he’s disruptive on defense.
Snyder is a strong guard with a well-rounded offensive bag. His strength comes in handy on drives and on defense. Snyder plays through contact well. He’s a good shooter with a nice floater and mid-range package while also being able to step out and hit from 3-point range. In terms of intangibles, he has a great work ethic and a high I.Q.
Coming down from Tennessee, MJ Floyd established himself as a player we’ll be monitoring moving forward. Right off the bat, his competitiveness stood out and impressed coaches. He has a long guard frame and good touch from the perimeter. Floyd uses his length and motor well as a defender out on the perimeter. He can guard anyone out there and keeps opposing guards and wings from getting in the lane.
A guard with a nice positional frame, Nguyen had several impressive moments on Sunday. He’s an opportunistic attacker who plays with good pace. Nguyen routinely made plays and showed that he can use his body well when in attack mode. He has a good-looking shot and can hit from mid-range out to the 3-point line.
Caleb Samples has impressed on the HoopSeen stage in the past. He’s an athletic, long wing who can play bigger than he is while also having the skills to handle some secondary creation duties. While he may be most effective around the basket right now, he’s a real threat from 3-point range. Samples has proven to be an effective rebounder from the wing. He utilizes his length well in that regard.
Kersh is another one of the many who have shined during the HoopSeen camp series in the past. He’s developing a reputation as a knockdown shooter with good guard size, but his game is more expansive than that. He’s shown development in his ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim from the perimeter. Kersh can get to his spots and score the ball well. One thing that I loved to see out of him was that he wasn’t afraid to take contact at the rim. He’s already in our Georgia 2025 top 50, but he could keep climbing in time.
