Fall Preview Team Eight Breakdown
Continuing in our reflection on our Fall Preview camp, here are our team eight evaluations:
Copney plays with a shiftiness that’s fun to watch. He knows how to keep defenders on skates. Copney’s a pest on defense and reads passing lanes really well. He plays with some bounce to his game and can be counted on to hit an open jumper.
Husband is an athletic guard who’s great with the ball in his hands. He’s got solid handles and mixed athleticism and craftiness to get to his spots. He seemingly finds his way to the paint whenever he wants.
Partee was flat-out one of my favorite players of the day. He’s strong in the paint finish through contact well. Partee is a guy who’s always cutting to the basket and moving without the ball. His versatility is extremely valuable. If you need him to play on the perimeter or in the post, he can do both equally well. His coach described him as playing a Draymond-Green-like game, and I can’t argue with that.
Scales is a really nice guard in pick-and-roll situations. He’s a strong player who can score it well. He knows the game and understands when he should make plays for himself or his teammates.
Schneidt makes a lot of athletic plays on both sides of the ball. I’d say that he shines most on defense where he’s a ball hawk who generates a ton of steals. He has a nice-looking jumper and can heat up from the perimeter. If he gets out in transition, Schneidt’s athleticism could lead to some highlight-reel plays. - Josh Tec
Thomas is the ultimate glue guy. He plays with such palpable, contagious energy and intensity that it drives his entire team. He’s vocal on both ends of the floor, and it especially shows on defense. Thomas is a harassing defender that doesn’t give opposing ball handlers any room to breathe. On offense, the lefty is an aggressive driver who seeks contact. Thomas is a guy that every team needs. - Josh Tec
