Spring Preview Team 2 Breakdown
Devin Story, Guard, 2022: Story was one of the best catch and shoot players in attendance. He made a name for himself this high school season with his 3-point shooting abilities and it was no different at camp. He had a lot of success shooting the three ball and shooting it off the bounce.
Ka'Mari Towns, Guard, 2021: Towns was one of the most explosive guards at the camp. His first step is extremely quick and he explodes off the ground to get to the rim. He is a downhill scorer that wants to live in the paint. Towns committed to East Georgia State College shortly after his camp appearance.
Major Freeman, Guard, 2022: Freeman was one of my favorite players to watch Sunday. He plays with a ton of swagger and confidence. He is crafty off the dribble and can finish above the rim. If defenders give him too much space, he does not hesitate to shoot it from deep. He is a guard that can score in multiple ways. I am interested to see where this travel season takes him.
Cortavion Wilder, Guard 2021: Wilder plays at a high speed and has the ability to change directions to get to his spots. Once he beats his defender off the dribble, he likes to finish with a floater in the lane. The way he attacks the glass is impressive, especially for a small guard.
Shawn Williams, Guard, 2021: Williams showed his ability to knock down open shots and get into the lane. He made plays on defense and created for his teammates.
Tre Chatman, Forward, 2022: Chatman was named to our top overall performers. Read about him here.
Elyjah Thurman, Center, 2024: The physicality that this kid already plays with as a freshman is something to take note of. He understands how to use his body without fouling to fight off defenders at the rim. Thurman was aggressive on the boards, attacking on both ends. He also ran the floor well and got rewarded for his efforts.
Khristian Clark, Guard, 2022: Clark was arguably the best passer at the event. He threw some dimes that made me want to see an instant replay. He was able to create for his teammates and create his own offense as well. He moves well without the ball and finds open spots to exploit.
