Player Spotlight with AJ Brown
AJ Brown established himself as one of the top players in attendance at the loaded GBCA live event. He led a talented Orlando Christian Prep team in scoring and impacted the game on both ends of the floor.
In front of a ton of college coaches, Brown displayed his ability to score the ball as well as defend. At 6-foot-4, he has nice positional size that he uses to his advantage. He can knock down shots from anywhere on the court and understands when and how to make the correct play. Coming into this weekend, Brown was still considered an under-the-radar prospect, but it took him no time to put everyone in attendance on notice.
Entering the live period event, Brown was hearing most consistently from Temple, Yale, Ohio, Drake, Iona, Penn State, Penn, Buffalo, and Georgia State. He stated he was also receiving interest from Florida State, Clemson, Vanderbilt, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Murray State, VCU, and ETSU. After watching him play in person, VCU offered him on Sunday.
Anyone who watched this kid play over the weekend fully expects his offer list to grow as the live period continues.
"I am excited to be able to play in front of coaches and show them what I can do since we weren't able to last year," he said. "This year gives me an opportunity to really show them what I got."
Brown is looking forward to playing in front of more coaches heading into July where his goal is to win Peach Jam with his E1T1 program.
