2026 Conrad P. Foss Memorial: 17U Top Performers, Part I

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL – The fourth annual Conrad P. Foss Memorial is officially in the books after an exciting weekend at Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus. Programs from all across Florida came together to honor the memory of the late Conrad Foss, a coaching legend in the Sunshine state and a dear friend to HoopSeen.

We’ll kick off our coverage from the 17U division, looking at some of the top performers from the age group:

Seth Browner, SWFL Hoops: If anyone took advantage of the stage at the Conrad Foss Memorial Tournament, it was Seth Browner. The 6-foot-1 combo guard showed his ability to play both guard spots efficiently and effectively with his ball-handling and basketball IQ, but what blew me away the most was his pure shooting ability. He made his mark early as one of the better shooters in the event, knocking down multiple treys each game. The junior also has some sneaky quick-twitch to him, allowing him to get by defenders and get downhill. I think he’s a legitimate 3&D type guy in the backcourt.

Jackson Byam

Jackson Byam, Elevate Basketball: I don’t think anyone will argue with this statement: unsigned senior Jackson Byam was the best scorer in the building at Wiregrass Ranch this weekend. The smooth lefty filled it up and scored in bunches from all over the floor. The 6-foot-1 guard made his fair-share of shots from the perimeter, but his creativity with the ball in his hands and savvy play made him a constant headache for opposing teams. He doesn’t have a ton of action on the recruitment front, so I would urge JUCO programs to take a look.

Jackson LaMarre

Jackson LaMarre, SCE UA: LaMarre has taken some steps and had some nice growth over the past calendar year, putting himself firmly in the conversation as one of the top players from the event. For starters, he’s added a couple of inches and stands at 6-foot-3 now. That growth was evident as he rose up over defenders and showcased his shooting range throughout the weekend. While he made numerous shots over the course of two days, I was most impressed with his IQ and ability to make the right play. LaMarre never forced the issue with passes or shots. I thought it was a productive weekend for the junior and he should be poised for a strong travel season.

Jakobe Rasmussen

Jakobe Rasmussen, 2Times Outlaws: Tough shot maker. That’s the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Jakobe Rasmussen’s game. The skilled, 6-foot-2 guard made it a habit from start to finish, as he made shots with hands in his face all weekend. Rasmussen displayed his ability to score at all three levels, but he excelled scoring off the bounce. He had no problem getting to his spots on the floor with some wiggle and the ball on a string. Rasmussen has the rare ability to truly take a game over and he went through stretches of doing that at the Conrad Foss Memorial.

Camden Wesley-Kam

Camden Wesley-Kam, Wellington Wolves PUMA: There’s so much intrigue that comes with Wesley-Kam’s overall game. At 6-foot-4, the lengthy forward can play inside and outside on both ends of the floor. He was a mismatch problem all weekend for opposing bigs with his explosiveness and quick first step. Wesley-Kam spent many possessions luring bigger defenders out away from the rim and then blowing by them off the dribble. He’s a quick and explosive jumper, too. Wesley-Kam made several highlight plays above the rim that caught the eye of spectators. Yes, he’s a bit of a tweener, but he gets things done and is productive on the floor. Keep an eye on him this spring.

Marcus Rose, SCE UA Grind: SCE UA Grind had a solid showing at Wiregrass Ranch as they finished up the weekend with a 3-1 record. They took advantage of a three-headed monster in the backcourt, so it’s only fitting to highlight Rose’s play. I thought he set the tone for his team on Saturday with his grit and fun style of play. The 5-foot-11 guard showed fearless instincts with the ball in his hands, but he also knew when to attack and when to keep the ball moving. More often than not, he made the correct play, whether it was making an extra pass to get a hockey assist or making a straight-line drive off a ball reversal. Rose also kept defenses honest with his shot-making skills.
