2025 Best of the South: 15U Top Performers, Part II
Yet another Best of the South is officially behind us and the 2025 stanza didn’t disappoint. Our staff patrolled the Georgia International Convention Center throughout the weekend, looking for the next group of players to start – or continue – their respective stories.
Meet some of our 15-and-under top performers from the July NCAA live period event…
RELATED: 15U Top Performers, Part I
Najon Davis, 2028 CG, Panhandle Prospects: You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better quick-twitch, high-octane scorer and defender than Davis in the 15U division. The wiry guard was a menace on defense, forcing turnovers with his quickness and ability to get deflections. That defense led to instant offense for the Escambia (FL) product. Whether it was making smooth finishes in transition or scoring within the halfcourt offense, Davis put the ball in the basket. He was one of the main reasons why the Panhandle Prospects put up a 5-1 record. - Garrett Tucker
Alek Avaliani, 2028 PF, Atlanta Timberwolves: It didn’t take long for Avaliani to stick out with his sheer size. The 6-foot-6 big man was an instant mismatch problem for a lot of 15U squads because of that, but then you toss in his skill and touch and it only gets worse. Avaliani scored in a variety of ways and checked a lot of boxes: he scored with his back to the basket, he extended the floor with some shots from 15-feet and out, and he got easy baskets off offensive rebounds. This is a young name to keep an eye on going forward at Walton (GA). - Garrett Tucker
Kelvin Ceballos, 2028 F, Team Work: Team Work’s 15U group is full of talented players, but Ceballos may have been the most impressive at BOTS. The 6-foot-4 forward has a well-rounded game and does a multitude of things when he’s on the floor. Need a rebound? Check. Need to shut down the other team’s best player? Check. Need a playmaker with the ball? Check. Those are just some of the boxes Ceballos checked while in Atlanta. You can make the argument that he was the most valuable player for Team Work this weekend. I’m excited to keep following him. - Garrett Tucker
Chase Williams-Pierce, 2028 PF, Jax Eagles: Williams-Pierce was a load to handle for opposing teams at Best of the South with his size and overall play. The wide-bodied, 6-foot-4 big man embraced the physicality of the game and rightfully so – he’s pretty darn good at it. The rising sophomore fought through contact all weekend with defenders draped over him. He showed he can make finishes at the rim, but he’s also got a nice touch and some nimble feet that open things up. Williams-Pierce helped lead the Jax Eagles to a quality weekend of action. - Garrett Tucker
Preston Bush, Norcross Heat: Norcross Heat 15U played up in the 16U division this weekend, and they did not disappoint. Preston Bush was a big reason why. The 2028 guard made play after play off the bounce. Bush is shifty with the ball in his hands and consistently makes tough shots, even with defenders contesting him. He had several games this past weekend where he knocked down three or more threes. Bush is a name whose stock will continue to rise in Georgia’s 2028 class. - Mekhi Mckinney
