2024 forward Sammie Yeanay is eyeing one official visit

2024 Gainesville (FL) The Rock School power forward Sammie Yeanay had a productive weekend at the Lighthouse Classic a few weeks ago, as he helped lead his team to a 1-1 weekend on the Grind Session circuit.

Yeanay, a versatile 6-foot-8 power forward, showcased his full arsenal over the course of the event. He played comfortably on the perimeter with his face-up game, where he made a couple of three-pointers and delivered some nice touch passes to cutting teammates. The junior also was a formidable scorer in the paint, converting a couple of jump hooks in each game.

While Yeanay’s offensive arsenal was a positive, it’s hard to overlook his athleticism and raw skills across the board. He sprinted the floor consistently and converted easy lay-ins while also blocking shots in transition.

It’s no surprise that several college programs are tracking Yeanay closely this high school season. Mississippi State was in attendance to see him at the Lighthouse Classic, and plenty of other programs are lining up to see him.

“Alabama, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Florida, Houston, North Florida, and Jacksonville are some of scholarship offers right now,” Yeanay told HoopSeen.com. “I went to Wake Forest recently for an unofficial visit, too.”

Yeanay is eyeing another official visit in the near future, where he could potentially see the No. 1 team in the country in action.

“I’m planning on getting out to Houston soon. They’re a really good team and I like how they play,” he explained.

Yeanay and five-star teammate R.J. Jones makes up one of the best big men duos in the country, so it’s safe to say more and more coaches will begin to take a closer look at the post prospects at The Rock School.

While he is currently unbanked, Yeanay will find his way into our 2024 HoopSeen National rankings at the next update.
