FABC Live Saturday Standouts, Pt. I

GAINESVILLE, Fla.—With a state as big and diverse as Florida, there are plenty of next-level prospects to see, and a lot of them gathered in Gainesville for the FABC high school team camp.

Several college coaches were on hand for the live period event, and I made the trip down on Saturday to check out a day of the inaugural event. Throughout the week, I’ll empty out my notes from the day with some standout performers.

Macgregor set the tone of the day early for me. I showed up in the second half of their game when Calvary Christian was down a healthy amount, but Macgregor led a comeback that eventually ended in a W for his squad. His competitiveness immediately stood out. Intense on both ends, Macgregor brought plenty of fire to the earliest game of the day. He played with plenty of poise at the PG spot and generated significant point production via his multi-level scoring and passing.

Myles Mayfield

Mayfield caught my attention from across the gym, and I had to make my way over to his court to see him after watching from afar for long enough. His size and length are what immediately stood out, and everytime I looked over, he made a play in one way or another. Mayfield uses his physical tools well on defense and on the glass. He scored reliably around the basket too. His upside is blatant, it’s loud. A 2025, Mayfield has had several D1s ringing his line since the contact period started.

Lorenzo Cason

Cason was a bucket for Victory Christian in a morning win. He hit a variety of shots, including a tough and-one in OT that locked up the win for them. Outside of his scoring, Cason’s ability to create for others was on display. He lit up the scoresheet, but he wasn’t playing selfishly by any means. Cason spreads the ball well and sees the floor. He’ll be a good pick up for a school at the next level.

Dante Allen

Every time I’ve seen Allen, I’ve walked away impressed with his ability to go get a bucket. The guy can flat-out score. He has a nice blend of physicality and enough burst to get by guys and to create separation. He did his thing when it came to directly putting points on the board, but his passing also shined.

Enrico Borio

Borio has seen that uptick in recruitment that we predicted. He added an offer from Jacksonville after a great game with North Broward Prep. Borio showed samples of what he does well, which is a lot, frankly. He showed his skill with dexterous ball handling, passing, and shooting touch. He rebounded and demonstrated his ability to play inside as well. In addition to the Jacksonville offer, Borio received one from Chattanooga after the first June live period. He should see more than a handful of coaches on hand to watch him in July.
