Grassroots Showcase Top Florida Performers

The Grassroots Showcased was better than I could have imagined. Coaches were on the sidelines and kids were playing hard. There was talent on all 50+ courts. As you can imagine, the sun shine state surely represented. Here are my top performers out of Florida.

Dawson Barr

At 6-foot-4, Barr has solid positional size. I’ve been able to track him since his freshman season, and he has filled out his frame and made improvements to his game each year. With his size and shooting ability, he is a big threat out on the perimeter as he shoots the three at a high clip. His athleticism has seen a big improvement, too. Once he blows by defenders off the dribble, he can easily rise up to finish with a slam.

Jalon Cole

I’ve mentioned Cole a good bit over the past few weekends. The 6-foot-3 guard has made major strides in his game over the years. What I appreciate the most is the improvement in his overall feel for the game. He plays at a better pace and takes his time to scan the floor before making his move now, whereas a few years ago, he would often force some bad shots. He has taken his playmaking ability to another level, making him even more valuable to his team as they look to him to lead in scoring and facilitating.

Neil Falconer

Falconer had a solid overall weekend for SCE. He makes an impact on both sides of the ball and does a lot of the dirty work for his team. Falconer had it going on the offensive end, showing his ability to score from different spots on the floor. In his best game of the weekend, he finished with 20 points and seven assists, including a wild shot at the buzzer to send the game to OT.

Jaiden Miller

Miller is one of those small guards that understands the little aspects to help him stand out. He is an aggressive downhill guard that gets into the lane with ease and demonstrates he can finish over bigger defenders. His ability to take care of the ball, get his teammates involved, and defend was a big difference maker in Florida Pro’s big time weekend.

Perez was one of the better 2025 players we had in attendance. This kid can get hot from three quickly and score it in flurries. I watched him knock down four threes on his way to a game high 24 points in which his team needed every single one of his points to win the game. He is a high motor play that makes an impact on both ends.
