Atlanta Jam Florida Standouts
The Atlanta Jam was heavy with talent from different states across the country. As you can expect, Florida teams definitely brought the heat. Here are some of my standouts from the sunshine state.
Chamberlain had a coming out party of sorts throughout the weekend as he was one of the most consistent players as far as productions and definitely one of the top shooters. Chamberlain knocked down at least three triples in each of Loyalty United's games. He has a quick, consistent shot from three and does not need much time or space to get his shot off.
I always take note of when players exude confidence when they take the floor and this kid is one of those guys. When watching him, it does not take long to see that he plays fearless on both ends; there was not one defender that he did not think he would be able to score on. At 6-foot-4, he has good size and the shooting touch to score from different spots on the floor. Edouard averaged 16.5 PPG and almost 5 rebounds per game.
Evans put on one of the highest scoring performances on the weekend when he dropped 31 points in a big win for Dream Nation. Of those 31 points, 21 came from his seven 3-pointers. He showed his ability to knock down the three consistently as well as score it off the dribble and make smart plays in the paint.
Standing tall at 6-foot-6 with a strong frame, Harris possesses a ton of upside. This kid is strong, versatile, and plays with a high motor. The combination of his length, strength, and athleticism allow him to be effective inside the paint and out on the perimeter. It also allows him to guard multiple positions on the defensive end. Harris played really big in a game vs VSE where he poured in 27 points. He was a walking double-double throughout the weekend, averaging 14 points and 11 boards.
Sword was the other half of the 1-2 punch that led Loyalty United to a solid weekend of wins. I really like what he brings to the table with his motor. He crashes the boards, gets after loose balls, and creates a ton of second chance opportunities for his team. His size at 6-foot-5 gives him an advantage out on the perimeter due to his ability to get to his spots and knock down high percentage shots.
