The Warm Up With @DCREALSPILL
In this week’s edition of the Warm-Up, I give a quick breakdown of a few young prospects that have stood out to me for the past few weeks.
Corey Stephenson continues to turn heads while putting some major attention on Hueytown, and in just a few short games, JaBorri McGee has put up big numbers worth talking about.
The TakeOver
Corey Stephenson was one of my top players to watch during the summer, so excuse me if I’m not shocked about his ability to take over the game.
Being in an area such as Hueytown, Stephenson did not get many looks, but now he’s changing that every time he steps on the floor.
Stephenson has gone up against some of Alabama's best and has dropped bucket after bucket showing off his super athletic ability and great grit to win every game.
With only one offer coming in from Alabama State University, Stephenson has pulled in another from Pensacola State College. I believe that more offers will continue to come once coaches get a glance at this elite player.
Catch Stephenson in action tonight against Ramsey High School.

From the Gridiron to the Hardwood
JaBorri McGhee is a 6-foot-2 slashing guard, and this kid provides everything required from a college athlete. He has excellent size and has a good feel for the game. In addition, McGhee is very physical and can do a little bit of everything on the court.
After making his jump to Winfield (AL) High School, McGhee has made quite a name for himself on the football field, and he just recently pulled in an offer from Jacksonville State.
Now that football season is over, McGhee has been locked in and has put up some big numbers in just a short amount of time. His best performance thus far came up against Oakman when he dropped 47 points and pulled down eight rebounds.
McGhee is a phenomenal scorer; his attacks to the basket are unmatched, and his game around the post is effortless. One of his best skills is his pull-up jumper; many players struggle pulling up off the dribble but not this guy; he lets it fly.
McGhee's superb leaping ability makes him a sure threat pulling down boards on both ends of the floor. Defensively he can be quite aggressive, plays in your face defense, and is a strong rim protector.
Just like he did on the field, McGhee is slowly becoming one the best. Catch McGhee taking one of Alabama’s top recruits and Mississippi State commit Martvaious Russell at this year’s BeElite Hoops Holiday Invitational.
Young Rising Stars
Helena
‘24 Joshua Williams, a 6-foot-1 guard of Helena high school, is a young prospect that has slid onto my radar, and I have really been impressed with his game these past few weeks.
Williams has a great shot from beyond the arch and brings that tough intensity on defense with his quick hands and keen timing to go for the steal.
So far, Williams is averaging 20 points a game. I look forward to watching this kid grow as he continues to put in the hard work.
Huffman
‘25 Peyton Wiggins, a 6-foot-2 guard of Huffman high, has been one of the most consistent young stars this season. With already being a starting PG alongside elite players such as CJ Blount and Jaquarius Sword, this freshman has proven that pressure is nothing to him.
Wiggins’ game IQ for the game is very solid; he plays with great patience and allows the game to come to him. His passes are swift, and his solid decision-making puts his teammates in the position to score.
So far, Wiggins has put up solid numbers for the first half of the season, averaging 12 points, four rebounds, and four assists a game.
Carver-Montogomery
‘24 Jamicah Adair, a 6-foot point guard from Carver-Montgomery high and a favorite to watch during this past travel season, so my anticipation to see this kid play was very high.
I must say in little time, Adair has yet to disappoint. In just three short games, he has averaged almost 25 points a game.
Adair continues to show off his great playmaking and crafty dribbling skills as he slowly becomes one top young prospects in the state.
Adair did a quick Q&A with me earlier this year; check it out: The Warm Up with @DCrealspill | HoopSeen
