The Warm Up With @DCREALSPILL

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending the Tidal Wave Exposure Camp in Madison, MS. TeLante’ Webber of Southern Sports Platform has created a stage for Players around Mississippi to compete and showcase their skills.

Standouts

New Hope’s 2022 guard Caleb Parr was the most consistent player at the Tidal Wave Exposure Camp. I first took notice of Parr just from how hard he was going in the drills; sometimes, you just know who’s elite on the floor.

Parr stands at 6-foot-4, and I was just blown away by his consistency with scoring. He was unstoppable getting into the lane and showed pure quickness with the rock leaving defenders in the dust.

Parr has an elite jumper from around the perimeter and is very comfortable pulling up in a defender’s face. He’s a strong finisher and brings great energy to the floor.

Parr's great play pulled in an offer from Pearl River CC.

George Marshall was one of my big-time guards from the summer, and it’s always the same when I see this kid, nothing but incredible play along with that amazing athleticism.

Marshall is a 6-foot-3 guard from Jackson, MS, and he is an excellent scorer. He has a smooth pull-up jumper, and Marshall does an incredible job controlling the pace of the game.

Marshall and Parr were both named co-MVPs for the Tidal Wave camp. It made great sense because both of these guys put on a scoring clinic the entire day.

I was really impressed by Callaway’s Javarian Mallard, a 6-foot guard from Jackson, MS, with the c/o ‘25. Mallard has real solid handles, and his ability to break down defenders for a quick drive to the basket is great.

He plays with a lot of intensity and really turns it up on the defensive end, trying to pick-pocket whenever he could.
