Oregon's Lamar Washington keeps trending up in the 2022 class

Mr. Triple Double. That’s what Portland, Oregon junior guard Lamar Washington is starting to become. On Tuesday night at The Grind Session in Phoenix, Washington was the hardest player to guard on the floor.

That seems to be the case most night out when Washington hits the floor with Oregon based US Basketball Academy.

Washington scored 29 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and three steals in a 108-68 win over PHHoenix Heat. For those watching closely, it’s been that kind of showing from the class of 2022 prospect here in the desert. He’s getting better and better every time out and trending as a player who could become one of the top overall prospects in the West.

Perhaps the biggest area of growth, Washington said, is his playmaking abilities.

“Getting assists, that’s my first love. I love passing and creating for my teammates,” Washington said.

Offensively, we’ve seen him be a threat on the wing as a scorer and shooter. Washington said he’s looking to be a three-level scorer.

“I think my midrange game is getting way better. I’ve worked hard at that,” he said.

The 6-foot-4 Portland native has the physical tools to become a major defender at the college level, too.

He’s also a football star and a high-major prospect on the gridiron. That’s not keeping basketball staffs away, though. He’s racking up the interest at a consistent clip.

Washington said he holds offers from Eastern Washington, Idaho State, Montana State, Oregon State, Pacific, Portland State and Washington State.
