2024 Tennessee Jam: 16U Top Performers

The inaugural Tennessee Jam has officially come and gone. The Memphis Sports & Event Center was the epicenter of the Grind City this weekend as teams from all over the South competed in the beautiful, state-of-the-art facility.

Looking back on the action-packed weekend, there was a variety of talent from all different levels. As you can expect, there were plenty of standouts from the action in Memphis.

Without further adieu, here’s our top performers from the 16U division…

Tarris Bouie, 2026 WF, Team Thad: After looking back at the Tennessee Jam, I think I was most impressed with Bouie, a smooth and lanky 6-foot-6 scorer. The Charlotte, North Carolina native has a ton of natural ability in his wiry frame. Bouie is capable of scoring the basketball from all three levels and he did just that as he averaged just over 17 points per game on the weekend. The sophomore is an entertaining rhythm scorer – just wait for him to get going. You won’t find Bouie on many national rankings lists right now, but give it a few weeks. I promise your favorite high-major program will be all over him following the May evaluation period. He’s got that kind of talent.

Hart Weatherford, 2026 SG, Shockers Basketball: Another weekend, another standout from the talented and always entertaining Shockers Basketball group. This week, it’s lefty Hart Weatherford, who shined inside the Memphis Sports & Event Center this weekend. The lefty made his fair share of shots from behind the arc, but what made his weekend more impressive was his ability to keep defenses on their toes. Weatherford mixed in some tough finishes on the move along with some on-point skip passes to open teammates.

Yon Kinzer, 2026 WF, THE MVMNT-Price: The Movement Basketball Club put together a strong 3-1 weekend in our first annual Tennessee Jam thanks to help from wing Yon Kinzer. The Smyrna (TN) native caught our eye after his 21-point performance vs SRU Elite on Saturday morning. Yon was really effective early getting to the rim but also was really consistent from three point territory, including tossing in three threes in the second half vs SRU Elite. We’re excited to see how Kinzer plays the rest of the travel season!

Jayln McDonald, 2026 F, The MVMNT-Flowers: As we have mentioned several times this week, Movement Basketball has put together a couple of strong weekends at HoopSeen events and this weekend was no different. MVMNT-Flowers went 2-2 on the weekend, but they raised some eyebrows with a couple of competitive games against Team Thad and Shockers Basketball. McDonald played a big role for the team throughout Tennessee Jam, whether he was defending and rebounding against opponents’ big men or scoring in the paint. The sophomore brings a lot of defensive versatility to the table with his combination of strength and mobility.

Cutter Sisk

Cutter Sisk, 2026 PF, Tennessee Tigers: The Tennessee Tigers 16U group went 4-0 at the Tennessee Jam and Sisk showcased why he’s such a valuable player for the squad. The 6-foot-6 big man mixed in versatility and skill with his bigger frame, making himself a mismatch problem for several opponents. Despite being one of the biggest players on the floor, Sisk was comfortable playing on the perimeter — in fact, he made several nice passes to cutting teammates for easy finishes. The sophomore has a nice set of hands and a soft touch. He used both to score with his back to the basket and extend his shooting to the mid-range and beyond.

Sam Funches, 2026 C, Team Thad: It was another quality weekend at the office for the solid and consistent Funches, who is suiting up Team Thad this travel season. The 6-foot-10 big man made the most of his height and frame, averaging a double-double each time out for his team. Funches showcased his ability to score the ball in a variety of ways throughout the two days of action. He made good decisions with his back to the basket, making quick post moves or delivering on-point passes out of double-teams. Gonzaga is the latest high-major program to extend an offer to Funches and you can expect more high-major programs to keep coming his way.
