2024 Tennessee Jam: 15U Top Performers
The inaugural Tennessee Jam has officially come and gone. The Memphis Sports & Event Center was the epicenter of the Grind City this weekend as teams from all over the South competed in the beautiful, state-of-the-art facility.
Looking back on the action-packed weekend, there was a variety of talent from all different levels. As you can expect, there were plenty of standouts from the action in Memphis.
Without further adieu, here’s our top performers from the 15U division...
Elijah Wilson, 2027 PG, Rocket City Elite: Wilson impressed all weekend with his skills as a point guard. The wiry guard had a steady weekend, not getting sped up or rattled with the ball in his hands. He did a nice job of playing off the bounce and putting teammates in scoring opportunities, but he did some scoring for himself, too. Wilson led his team scoring 12 points per game.
Kylan Higgenbottom, 2027 SG, Unseen Elite: Simply put, Higgenbottom just has a knack for putting the ball in the hole. The slithery wing scored it about all ways imaginable, but make no mistake about it, he excelled in transition and scoring at the rim. The freshman utilized his length and frame to his advantage, getting by defenders with ease. Higgenbottom is an intriguing prospect that we’ll be monitoring going forward.
Jaharri Miller, 2027 F, Team Thad: Miller burst onto the scene on Saturday with a couple of eye-popping performances. In the first game of the day, the freshman made five three-pointers en route to 31 points. He followed that up with a 23-point performance on Saturday afternoon. When Miller wasn’t making shots, he was putting his big, strong body to work, effectively finishing over and through smaller defenders.
Kobi Jackson, 2027 PG, Tennessee Tigers: If you’re wanting scoring opportunities, I’d take Jackson on my team every day of the week. The lefty was masterful with the ball in his hands all weekend, spraying it around to teammates on the perimeter and dumping easy passes off to big men for simple finishes around the rim. Playing at Independence High School, Jackson showed his high basketball IQ and vision. He competed at a high level and was one of my favorite players from the event.
Marcus Jones, 2027 CG, Chattanooga Elite: Jones put together an impressive weekend for Chattanooga Elite leading them to a 4-0 weekend. MJ was lighting up the box scores all weekend, including a game high 24 points over Team SBC. The stout guard averaged just under 20 points per game for the event. He did a nice job of using his basketball IQ and body to put himself in position for scoring opportunities. Jones will be a big piece for Chattanooga Prep next year, who just recently won their first state championship in school history this past season. The athletic guard will be a guy we keep our eye on for the class of 2027!
Max Patterson, 2027 PF, SBC: Patterson proved to be a difficult matchup for many teams over the weekend thanks to his size and comfort with the ball in his hands. The big man made a living sprinting in transition and receiving passes from teammates, where he was able to finish with several dunks in the two days of action. Patterson also did a nice job handling the ball on the perimeter and attacking defenses off the bounce. He was one of the best finishers through contact I saw at Tennessee Jam.
