Region playoff and the sub-state games are the focus as we move towards the Big Dance here in Tennessee.

REGION TOURNAMENT AND SUB-STATE GAMES

EAST TENNESSEE

Milestones

Reid Satterfield (Greeneville): Tusculum signee was at his best during the region tournament including a 25 point effort against Elizabethton in the semis and  a 20 spot against Volunteer in the region finale. Satterfield also etched his name in Greene Devil folklore forever as he surpassed the coveted 2,000 point barrier for his career.

Jahvin Carter (Alcoa): Rising sophomore has played at a very high clip since mid-season and his 24 point effort against Chuckey-Doak in the region semis continues that upward trajectory. Carter also surpassed the 1,000 point mark for his young career.

Region Tournament Scoring Efforts

Jakobi Gillespie (Greeneville): Continued his monumental season with a three-pack of outstanding efforts in the Region tournament. The Mr. Basketball finalist opened with a 30 spot against Sullivan East, followed up with 21 against Elizabethton and then led a balanced attack for the region final win with 22 over Volunteer.

Micah Simpson (Morristown East): The schools all time leading scorer left his mark in his final two high school offerings dropping 40 against West Ridge in the region opener and finishing his vaunted prep campaign with a 31 point effort in the semi-final loss to Dobyns-Bennett. It has been a pleasure young man.

Hayden Moseley (Bearden) & Elijah Bredwood (Bearden): These Bulldog seniors were at their finest in region action as Bearden took care of business. Moseley dropped 25 in the region opener against Karns, while Mr. Basketball finalist Bredwood finished with 31 in a region final win over Farragut.

Malachi Hale (Dobyns-Bennett): This senior wing/post was monstrous with his 27 point effort as Dobyns-Bennett claimed the region crown over Science Hill.

Jamar Livingston (Science Hill): Under the radar junior guard was outstanding in region action. He opened with a 25 point effort against Morristown West, followed up with a 24 point show against Sevier County in the semi then closed with a 21 spot against Dobyns-Bennett in the region finals.

Jason Britton (North Greene): Sophomore scoring sensation was equally outstanding in the region tournament. Britton dropped 28 in the region opener against Washburn then added 23 in the semi final win over Jellico.

Sub-State Scoring Efforts

Jackson Garner (Clinton): Maryville College signee stripped the nets for 45 points as the Dragons moved on to the state tournament with a convincing win over Volunteer.

Elijah Bredwood (Bearden): The Mr. Basketball finalist helped lift the Bulldogs back to the state tournament dropping 27 in a huge win over Science Hill.

Jaspar Brand (North Greene) and Jason Britton (North Greene): The duo scored 24 and 20 points respectively leading the Huskies to the Class A state tournament with a win over Oliver Springs.

Jakobi Gillespie (Greeneville): Belmont signee and Mr. Basketball finalist surpasses the 2,000 point threshold with his effort as the Green Devils head back to defend their state crown with the easy win over Knoxville Halls.
