Tennessee's best shine at the Elite 60: Part I

A stellar event brought to us by Stellar Hoops, the Elite 60 this past weekend at East Ridge High School in Chattanooga. Yours truly represented Hoop Seen and was proud to the speaker for the event, addressing the 60 players about recruiting and the good and the bad of the current hoop scene as we speak.

I have selected 10 players for my breakdown they will be listed in alphabetical order. Meet the first five.

Camden Andrews
5'11 PG 2023
Chattanooga, TN/Hamilton Heights

I love this kid. He plays with emotion and intensity and always has a smile on his face. His handles are top-notch and he defends like it is personal to him. He has a lightning-quick first step and creates havoc when he gets into the lane, be it a sweet teardrop floater or a well-timed dish to some lucky teammate. His outside shot needs some aesthetic work and some fundamental tweaking but this kid is a gym rat so I see no worries in that arena.

Somto Cyril

Chattanooga, TN/Hamilton Heights

A definite eye-catcher with his size and length. Just learning how to play the game, but his timing and intangibles are well ahead of schedule. He basically just dunks everything, high percentage shots in the paint, you see. He has better than average hands, catches difficult entries and flushes them. He has amazing timing on his blocks but does tend to go for every shot, that will need to be tapered. I was concerned with him not running the floor and getting back on possessions, something he will clearly have to make a priority as he grows into a high major prospect.

Paxton Davidson
6'4 SG 2022
Mt. Juliet, TN/Green Hill

Tremendous amounts of information coming out about this shooting sensation here at HoopSeen. He is simply one of the best, if not the best shooter in our state. He has great size for a guard, not a blow by athlete but good enough to make plays in the paint and take you off the bounce if you underestimate. His range and shot are effortless and he has a feel and a love for the game that makes him a coveted prospect in the right system.

Isaiah Davis
6'7 WF 2022
Nashville, TN/Nashville Christian

Great kid who has a massive upside once his body catches up with skill level. He has range well beyond the deep line and will throw it down in traffic if your not careful. He is poised for a breakout summer and a big senior campaign. He desperately needs to add some strength to his game, he will see his skill level and confidence flourish. He has enough basketball ability to become a very nice two/three at the proper level.

JaMichael Davis
6'2 SG 2023
Fort Oglethorpe, GA/LFO

Thin guard with a great deal of explosion and a very nice outside touch. He glides to the bucket and creates chaos with his finishes, igniting the crowd into a fever pitch. He is a very disruptive on-ball defender and took this task with reverence, love that intensity and effort. He is dynamic on the break and has next-level quickness. He can finish with either hand equally well and is not afraid of contact or larger individuals. He will need to work on becoming more efficient in the half court and using his gifts to make others better. Love his upside.
