2026 StockRisers: LJ Rush

2026 PG LJ Rush of 1 of 1 Academy (NC) has been on our HoopSeen stage for quite sometime and he has always been one of my favorite players to watch. He was one of the best guards I saw at The Beach Ball Classic over Christmas break and he is a big reason that 1 of 1 Prep Academy was able to play for a championship.

Elite Quickness and Explosiveness

One of the first things that stands out about Rush’s game is his speed. He is one of the quickest guards in the region, he uses his agility to create mismatches, leaving defenders struggling to keep up. His explosive first step allows him to attack the lane with ease, where he can finish at the rim or create opportunities for teammates. Rush’s ability to break down defenses off the dribble is a critical asset for 1 of 1 Prep Academy’s offense.

Scoring Ability and Court Vision

Rush is more than just a slasher; he’s a multi-dimensional offensive threat. His scoring repertoire includes strong drives to the basket, pull-up jumpers, and a developing perimeter shot. Whether in transition or the half-court, he has a knack for finding openings and capitalizing on them. Additionally, his court vision and decision-making enable him to set up teammates effectively, making him a dual threat as a scorer and facilitator.

Defensive Impact

On the defensive end, Rush’s quickness and anticipation make him a disruptive presence. He stays low, moves his feet well, and has a keen sense of timing when it comes to poking the ball away or jumping passing lanes.
