Akins Calls It For Denver

1 of 1 Elite came onto our HoopSeen stage two travel seasons ago and have been probably the most dominant team year in and year out that we have had on our stage in that time.  From Derin Saran to Antonio Perkins to Jayan Walker and more have made their name starting with 1 of 1 Elite and our stage. Akins is out #12 prospect in the state of North Carolina and #152 nationally.

This past season was no different as Sebastian Akins came in and dominated at his position throughout our HoopSeen Association. He was named to our 1st Team HoopSeen All-Association team, he was named our top point guard from the Association, and was named a top performer at multiple stops on our Association this past travel season. "It was really fun playing on the HoopSeen stage. It had some really good competition and it definitely played a big roll in my recruitment because of how many coach’s were coming to not only my games but other games as well."

Akins also had this to say about being named the top point guard in the HoopSeen Association, " Being named the top point guard was pretty cool to say the least. Me and my coach’s and my family already knew that but to have someone else and their staff recognize me and my hard work means a lot. I try not to get caught up into ranks and things like that but I was pretty hyped up when I seen that so I really do appreciate you guys for that. It all love with HoopSeen!!!"

Akins showed us and college coaches that he was a mid-major recruit and his commitment today solidifies what we have been saying for a while. The University of Denver offered in mid-September and was able to get an official visit from Akins not long after.

"The reason why I picked Denver, was simply because I felt the most comfortable there. My family felt comfortable. They really treated me and my family as if we were already there. They have a great program and the best program that will fit me and the way I play. After I visited it was just a no brainer for me honestly."
