2024 prospect Jalil Bethea talks latest offer, his national ranking and more

The 6-foot-4 guard for Team Final was impressive to say the least at the last Nike EYBL stop in Memphis. Our Josh Tec had some high-praise about the prospect from uptown Philadelphia.

"Bethea had one of the performances of Sunday with his efficient 28-point outburst. The 6-foot-4 guard lived up to his reputation as one of the better pure shooters in the 2024 class by going 6 of 8 from beyond the arc and 10-13 from the field overall. One of the class’ risers, Bethea added another piece of evidence to his case for a bump up in rank. His recruiting list correlates with his play as of late. UConn, Georgia Tech, LSU, Xavier, Kansas, Maryland have offered within the last month or so. Virginia Tech, Georgetown, and West Virginia are among the others who have offered. He'll be high on the next HoopSeen rankings update, Tec wrote after seeing Bethea in Memphis."

Simons Rec Center

Bethea is attending Archbishop Wood High School in North Philadelphia but he tells HoopSeen that he spent a lot of time at Simons Recreational Center. "I’m from uptown, and I grew up around up there but I played at Simons. It was this local playground that u could play inside and outside and that’s just where I learned most of my skills at," he said.

Alabama is the latest offer for Bethea. During the month of May he picked up offers from Alabama, Georgia Tech, Connecticut and LSU. On the Alabama offer, Bethea said, "Getting a offer from Alabama was like shocking because I’ve grown up watching them and just the players they produced are mostly all pros and I was jus excited to get an offer from them."

What does Bethea think about his national rankings of #25 in our updated HoopSeen national rankings? "It’s a blessing because I never knew I would be in this position I am.

What can Bethea bring to his future college program? "The biggest thing is jus my motive to win and to work hard because nobody wants somebody to come to their campus and not work hard so my motive to win and determination would be the biggest thing."
