Khamani Wertz has sports in his blood. His father is Langston Wertz, longtime sports journalist with The Charlotte Observer and his older brother Trey is playing in the NCAA tournament this week with Notre Dame. The 6-foot junior guard is hoping to see his recruitment pick back up this travel season with Team Charlotte. Wertz helped Providence Day win 22 games and reach the NCISAA 4-A playoffs on a talented team coached by former college coach Ron Johnson who has won state titles in the NCISAA at The Burlington School and at Davidson Day.
