Ian Bailey Updates Recruitment
Ian Bailey, one of the top junior prospects in North Carolina has helped his Asheville Christian Academy program get off to a 3-0 start so far. The 6-foot-2 point guard has offers from UNC-Asheville and Stetson but is starting to hear from a few more programs. UNC-Asheville Head Coach Mike Morrell doesn't just throw offers out to anyone and with Bailey being in the same city, this is a testament to what UNC-Asheville as a program saw in Bailey.
Bailey spent some time on our HoopSeen stage last season with the 16-and-under Team Curry program at our Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions.
Bailey lists Yale, Belmont, Coastal Carolina, Penn, Eastern Kentucky, Furman and Brown are schools that have been in contact recently.
Scouting Report
Bailey has good size at the point guard spot, understands how to lead a team and knows when he needs to score or get others involved. On the defensive side, he can guard perimeter opposition at the one through the three positions and is a good rebounder. I think he is capable shooter and has a solid mid-range game. I think Bailey fits the mold as one of those guys that can get some minutes and make an impact at the mid-major level and be a transfer-up a level kind of player.
