EYBL Session 4 Notebook
The fourth session of the Nike EYBL circuit has finished and the top teams will move on to the Peach Jam in early July. Memphis was home base for the final session and we took all of the action in online. Nike makes it easy to watch multiple games and never miss any action.
College Coaches Will Make Boswell a Priority
I thought Bishop Boswell was everything that a college prospect at the guard position should be over the weekend for Team CP3. Boswell is able to affect the game in so many ways, from his rebounding, his court-awareness and passing ability to his scoring and defensive presence. Boswell has good size at either guard spot, can handle the ball well enough to play either of those positions and he has a great feel for the game. He is currently being recruited by Southern California, Xavier, George Mason, Charlotte and St. Bonaventure. All of those schools have offered in the past few months. Prior to this, Georgia, South Florida, Houston, North Carolina A&T, Wake Forest and Texas A&M all offered over the past two seasons.
Swartz Continues Superb Play
Cannon School rising senior Austin Swartz was a guy on another level this weekend for Boo Williams AAU program. For the weekend, he averaged 25.6 points per game. He scored a weekend-high of 29 points against Nightrydas Elite. For the EYBL this spring he is averaging 21 points per game. His latest offers include Indiana, Georgetown, Southern California, Seton Hall, Maryland, Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame, and Texas A&M. His 21 points per game during the spring session is good enough for third in the Elite Youth Basketball League.
Cooke was Cooking
2025 point guard Kamari Cooke dropped a cool 13 assists for Team United's 16-and-under group over in Memphis this weekend against Alabama Fusion. He averaged right around 7 points per game but it was his passing that has me really interested. The 16-and-under squad went 2-1 on the weekend.
Stevenson Begins UNC Official Visit
North Carolina got some promising news today with NY Lightning guard Elliot Cadeau announcing that he will re-classify to the 2023 class for the upcoming season and enroll at North Carolina a year early. Team United's Jarin Stevenson also is rumored to be considering the same move and will be on an official visit to North Carolina starting today. Basketball analysts are saying that this one is down to Alabama and North Carolina for Stevenson's services.
