Team Curry Claims Bob Gibbons Middle School 14U Black Championship

Raleigh, NC - 

Back and forth first half for the right to be crowned The Bob Gibbons Middle School 14U Black Champion here at The Raleigh Convention Center. 

 

Two North Carolina programs going head to head for the title and it was a battle. The shooting of Marshall Nicholson gave Team Curry a 47-40 lead with 9 minutes left in the second half. A couple of turnover by Life Warriors Elite and the passing ability of Cha’Den Traylor which led to easy baskets, pushed the lead to 55-46 with 5 minutes left. Warriors Life Elite with a couple of baskets to make it a 9-point game at 61-52 with 4 minutes left. A three from Cayden Hill made it a 6-point game with 3 minutes remaining. 63-61 with 2:35 left after a Jordan Matheson lay-in. A missed free-throw gave Warriors Life Elite a chance to tie at the buzzer but it was waved off. 

 

Leading the way for Team Curry was Jayden Griffin with 15 points and Sean Nix with 12 points.
