Grassroots North Carolina Claim Carolina Jam 15U Championship

RALEIGH, N.C. — Grassroots North Carolina knocked off Team Premier, 58-42, to capture the 15U championship at the HoopSeen Carolina Jam on Sunday.

Darron Ward led the charge for Grassroots, tallying 18 points in the high-pressure contest. He had contributions from teammates Pierre Crespo and Luca Wistenguff, who finished with 15 and five points, respectively.

Team Premier was led by 16 points from Keyshawn Herring — who was efficient from all three levels of the floor and at the charity stripe. Tyreek Copper also added into the scoring mix, delivering nine points.

After jumping out to an early 20-point lead, Grassroots NC fended off a persistent attack from Team Premier. Grassroots NC eventually found breathing room midway through the second half, as its depth was too much to overcome for Team Premier.
