RALEIGH, N.C. — Select Garner Road defeated Carolina Hoopz 843, 86-53, to secure the 16U title at the HoopSeen Carolina Jam on Sunday afternoon.

Devaughn Brown spearheaded Garner Road’s offensive attack with 22 points, 20 of which came in the first half. Elijah Melton and Justice Mitchell also left their mark on the marquee game, combining for 27 points. Mitchell in particular had his way inside all afternoon long.

Carolina Hoopz 843 lone double-figure scorer was Lavell Minus, who racked up 12 points and connected on a pair of triples. Brandon White also had a solid afternoon, finishing with nine points.

Garner Road capped off its successful weekend with yet another blowout win. Garner Road won all but one of its games by at least 30 points, including three contests which were decided by 43-plus points.
