Gibbons: Stars Select wins opening game of tourney
SUWANEE – Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions was not in its normal venues. It was not even in the same state. For the first time in 18 years, Gibbon’s TOC was being held outside of North Carolina.
Friday was the first opening night of the TOC at Suwanee Sports Academy and will continue through the weekend.
However, despite the changes made in this 180 team tournament some things remained the same. College coaches had their notepads and list of players they were interested in seeing. Fans walked though the turnstiles looking to catch a glimpse of tomorrow’s basketball stars. On the court, teams dominated teams not expected to beat them.

Balanced scoring was the key to the Stars success Friday night. The Georgia-based organization had four players in double figures. Leading the way for them was Iffy Imachukua (2013/Duluth) who finished with 15 points. Bjorne Walker(2013/Alpharetta) chipped in with 10 points. Antonio Torrence (2013/Home Schooled) and Kevin Barnes (2013/Duluth) dropped in 10 points apiece
