15U Red Best of the South Champions:Court Kingz
The 2025 Court Kingz led from wire-to-wire, earning a 59-51 win vs. Miami Dor5Elite en route to the 15U Red Bracket Title.
Kingz hooper Trey Berry is a force in the paint, to say the least. He has guard size, yet can play physical like the best of bigs. He had eight points in the first half, hustled for boards, and made it a point to convert at the free-throw line. His teammate Tyler Dixon hit a pair of threes to keep the Miami D at-bay.
To start the second half, Kingz G Aiden Scott set the tone.
Scott met a Miami ball-handler on the block, and rose up for a clean swat. Catching his own block, Scott launched a full-court pass to Berry who finished off a layup. They led by 14 early in the second period.
Although, Miami had zero quit in them.
With seven mins left in the game, Julian Crespo came off a screen, and bulldozed his way through the lane to earn an and-one layup. He finished the game with 15 points. Miami cut the lead to 10 in that moment, but the Kingz came right back with a three-point play of their own.
After a transition steal by Berry, he fed Scott down low for a quick finish through contact. Scott followed that up with back-to-back floaters from six feet. One of which, came after the second offensive rebound of the possession. That play alone seemed to take some wind out of the Miami sails.
But, only for a moment.
O’cien Valdes hit a three from the wing, followed by Crespo hitting two from the stripe on the next possession. Just like that, Miami was only down four with one minute to play.
The Kingz stayed poised, worked the ball around on offense, resulting in a nice putback layup by Bryson McGrew. Kingz F D.J. Vinson absolutely destroyed the ball after blocking a Miami layup attempt on their next possession, and pulled away with the championship victory.
Berry led all scorers with 18 points. Vinson chipped-in 12 of his own.
